I have really enjoyed reading the scroll 3 (chapter 10 of Og Mandino’s The Greatest Salesman in the World) this month and have to say goodbye to it soon to move on to the scroll 4.
I will persist until I succeed. This scroll was all about “Persistence”.
“Persistence” is what we need to continue on this journey of rebuilding our mental house with new blueprint. Indeed, it is one step at a time to make any changes in our life but it is very powerful step each time when we focus on the goal (purpose). We will persist and will be focused on achieving our goals (purposes).
If we don’t take any step forward, either we are staying on the same spot or falling behind. Whether it is changing our habits or perspectives in life, we need to make a decision to either move forward or not. We have a choice to make, intentionally.
Over the holidays and break, we were encouraged to watch several movies and I was able to watch “Cool Runnings”, “Door to Door”, and “Wild”. In all these movies, it was evident that they were all determined to achieve their goals of either winning the bobsledding for Olympics, selling the products, or hiking the Pacific Crest Trail in spite of the limitations, poor conditions and lack of resources and supports. In fact, they didn’t consider these conditions as obstacles or hindrances to cause them to give up but rather challenges to overcome and to work even harder.
This reminded me of the Bible passages, James 1:2-4 “Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, 3 because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. 4 Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.”
Over the last 14 weeks, we have been working very hard applying what we’ve learned in MKMMA through webinars, daily readings, practices, mental work and master minding. It’s been amazing to see the growth that each one of us have experienced and being affirmed by one another. But there’s a lot more to come and it is so exciting to imagine what it will be like at the end of our journey.
As it says in the above mentioned passages, we will be mature and complete, not lacking anything as we persevere to finish our works.
Also I believe we can persist and persevere regardless of the price we have to pay because of the faith we have in God and ourselves.
Hebrews 11:1 “Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.”
We can be confident that we will have what we hope for and we can see (picture) who we will become and what we will achieve in the future as if it’s here and now.
We are moving forward with faith one step at a time to persist and persevere to accomplish what we set our mind for.
Let’s do this! Onward for amazing venture and journey of MKMMA!
